RAD's FCS-155 fibre channel to SDH/SONET converter and FCS-622 fibre channel to SDH/SONET converter are customer located equipment enabling the transport of the fibre channel over STM-1/OC-3 or STM-4/OC-12 trunks, respectively. Supporting the GFP and FC-BB standards, FCS-155 and FCS-622 utilize the SDH/SONET infrastructure for cost-effective, reliable storage extension. Typical applications include high speed synchronous or a synchronous backup, mirroring and data replication as well as interconnection of SAN islands in multiple remote Metro sites. The FCS-155/FCS-622 fibre channel to SDH/SONET converter is compatible with existing OSS and network management systems.
