The DTN is the world's first "digital" Remotely Configurable Optical Add/Drop Mux (ROADM), and is the key building block for implementing the Infinera Digital Optical Network architecture. Designed around Infinera's large scale Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) technology, the Infinera DTN integrates scaleable multi-wavelength DWDM transport with fully reconfigurable sub-wavelength digital switching and GMPLS-enabled end-end service intelligence and automation.
