The Alcatel-Lucent 9715 Lightweight WiMAX Base Station (L-WBS) is an "all-in-one" system designed to facilitate site acquisition and installation in a wide variety of environments. It offers very high radio performance which reduces the number of sites to be deployed and increases coverage. For instance, the beam forming feature which is supported from Day One allows up to a 40% decrease site requirements. With very compact and light hardware, it also reduces radio site costs and deployment constraints. The hardware supports MIMO and all evolutions planned by the IEEE 802.16 standard.
